Thursday, June 2, 2016  Beaufort to Stono Creek Anchorage.

Awoke early. Through the night as the current changed, it pushed marsh grass and branches around the Anchorline and Bridle. We first had to move a 5 ft.² of marsh grass before we could raise the anchor. After 100 foot of chain the anchor came up clean.  As we traveled north we were then greeted by four pair of marine fighter jets.
At 1108 we had a first for Greek's Folly. We were cruising along with Short Vacation and Sea Angel
( Mark and Becky) who were following us when we came upon a boat with someone waving a white towel trying to get our attention. We pulled slowly over to them and asked if we could help. They informed us that they had stuck something with their outdrive and their boat was taking on water. We asked them  what we could do and they said get them off the boat because the engine was under water and there was 10 inches of water in the cabin. We pulled along side of the boat named Square Grouper and proceeded to assist Capt. Dean Hyatt and Jim Mayben on to Greek's Folly. While we were doing this John, on Short Vacation, was trying to contact the Coast Guard. With the crew safe on our boat we proceeded up the river to the Mckinnely-Washignton Bridge where there was a boat lauch ramp. Because of the current we couldnt get close enough to the ramp to get our passengers off so we anchored our boat and dropped the dinghy in and rolled them to shore. The crew responded well to the challenge and the rescue was succesful. Capt Dean called me lateer in the day for the exact coordinates of where his boat was because by the time he got back to it, it had sunk.
We arrived at Stono Creek anchorage at 1537 after a long and exciting day.
This is where the fighter jets were coming from. John on Short Vacation
said they were the newest fighter plane, the F-35

You have to love the tides these people put up with.
